As-tu configuré correctement les locales?
dpkg-reconfigure locales.
Chez moi j'ai choisi fr_FR@euro ISO-8859-15 et fr_FR ISO-8859-1 et je
crois avoir le souvenir que fr_FR.UTF-8@euro UTF-8 faisait planter OO.
Dans mon home, j'ai $LANG=fr_FR@euro et $LANGUAGE=fr.
