Executer un programme dans un nouveau teminal

Bonjour

j'ai besoin d'executer un programme dans un nouveau terminal (ici mplayer), 
car sans terminal, il ne veut pas s'executer correctement.

je cherche donc une commande, du genre nohup ou exec, qui me permétrais de 
spécifier un terminal, virtuel ou non, ou il lancera la commande.

Tout cela, c'est pour lancer mplayer a une heure fixe, sur un display donné.
