The GdkPixBuf library provides a number of features:

Und genau aus dem o.g. Grund (Dependencies) habe ich alle Links auf
Ximian (aka Helix) aus meiner sources.list entfernt. Das alte Argument,
die Debian Gnome Pakete seien soooo alt zaehlt naemlich nur bei stable
(was ja auch logisch ist). Aber mit den "original" Paketen bin ich jetzt
seit Monaten wesentlich gluecklicher.

Ich wuerde sagen ohne diese Lib laeuft bei Gnome nicht mehr sehr viel.

Das war hier genauso. Ich kann Nautilus zwar sagen, es soll den Desktop
managen, und es beharkt sich dann mit gmc, aber ohne diese Option ist es
ein File-, Web-, ftp-, wasauchimmer manager, client... den man erstmal
starten muss und gmc laeuft wie immer (was mir sowieso lieber ist, weil
kleiner, schneller und stabiler.
