Can you test this by recompiling 2.0.2-31?

Yes, it is obsolete and should no longer be used.  Have a look at l2tabu
- when 3.0 is installed, simply "texdoc l2tabu" will bring it up.

If you personally know a Debian Developer who is willing to upload them
for you, I'd be grateful for this.  But I don't think I can upload
package that somebody has compiled on a system I don't know about.

Yes, please.  (Of course I know there are lintian warnings; I just
didn't have enough time to care about this).
