etc. same for the other flavours of LaTeX. Your language.dat seems to
be broken. You seem to manage your hyphenation patterns using
debconf. Did you ever edit your language.dat manually?
If yes: I'm afraid the comment sign in front of
For use with ngerman.sty (neue Rechtschreibung):
is missing by accident.
If not: could look, which file is shown, when typing "kpsewhich
language.dat" and send us that file?
