Every case I've managed to trace bac to a specific problem has ended up being a disk problem, machine crash, or similar, but there have been some occurances of it that I've not been able to find an explanation for, and it's still possible there's a debconf bug involved (which is why debconf still has open bugs on the issue). -- see shy jo
