Yes. Correct.

Yes, this seems to be now up to the submitter. Should we do so or is
caption2 an acceptable substitute for you? The latest caption2 is
obsolete. In the next teTeX-release you have to use again
caption.sty.

I guess, downloading the original 2.0.2 texmf-tree, extracting the
caption-package, doc. etc and putting them into caption-tmp is more
easy and has more value to the end user.
