Well, the only difference between my and your system could be, that
my one was upgraded from potato to woody. I never used the woody
installer on that box.

No. I want to say, that the file in question (metafun.mp) is in
tetex-extra. The dir /usr/share/texmf/metapost/context/base/ is in
tetex-base too but I think that shouldn't cause trouble.
* Remove empty directories in /usr/share/doc/texmf/ from tetex-base

Perhaps we should not only care about dirs below
/usr/share/doc/texmf/.
1. Why does dh_movefiles do not care about that?
2. It should not cause the bug above.
