Bug#176526: tetex-bin: /var/lib/texmf/web2c/mktexnam does not set PATH correctly, additional analysis

I believe that mktexnam is used in the creation of tfm files, so if you move
these aside for a moment then I believe it should be possible to generate
the problem. I just reconfirmed this problem with some elaborate files
of mine, otherwise I'd send it to you....

Output written on ecbl1000.600gf (256 characters, 50072 bytes).
Transcript written on ecbl1000.log.

So mktexnam outputs a name that tells the program to copy a pk file so an
appropriately name pk file?
