Version of colortbl
in tetex-extra 2.0.2b-3 : 1999/03/24 v0.1i Color table columns (DPC)
on CTAN : 2001/02/13 v0.1j Color table columns (DPC)

and now it is 2004

It is just an idea. As long as you are saying, that you have better
things todo then updating Styles from CTAN.

No, location of colortbl should stay /usr/share/texmf/tex/latex/carlisle
Just the source could be an other deb-package.

Yes, thats what I'm thinking of. But my idea was to replace not to
shadow, but shadowing could do well. :)

I am not averse to do a job like that.
But to clarify, I am in no way saying I will do a better job.
Its just the fact that there is ctan-packages you say you will not
update and I am willing to do a update.
Also I don't think I can do that for all ctan-packages due to few time.

I was not talking of teTeX, i just talk about a single ctan package.

As long there are debian users, there always will be a next guy.
And why not be nice to users, if it is just a small favor.
;)
