He is convinced by the cited argument and will ship the german
documentation ASAP.

This is a request or proposal to have the option of packaging the PDF
version instead, not additionally to, the DVI version. Seems
reasonable. I have written a german followup in which I second that.

The reason for all this is that they want MiKTeX to fit on one CD.
