Bug#232344: tetex-bin: xdvi ignores my shrinkFactor app-defaults setting

It doesn't matter, because what kpathsea puts out is just a link:
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 26 2004-02-11 15:09 /usr/share/texmf/xdvi/XDvi -> /etc/X11/app-defaults/XDvi
And, as I said, I can reproduce it here, but not in the sid chroot with
a much smaller set of packages installed.
So there clearly is something that goes wrong under some
circumstances. And I doubt that this has something to do with woody
vs. sid, I tend to think it's a question of the setup. Setting
xdvi*shrinkFactor in my ~/.Xresources works as expected.
Oh, perhaps it *is* woody vs. sid: My perl on the workstation is still
5.6. Is there some debugging switch for perl scripts, like "set -x" in
shell scripts?
