Basically I agreed.  However, only one my worrying is;

if tetex-base Provides: pxfonts and a user finds that 
even after installing tetex-base, one can't use pxfonts
properly in ones latex file, he might file a bug against
tetex-base (and it is reasonable to do so ;).

I'm not sure if you (or we) are ready to answer that bug.

Is it enough to explain the situation somewhere in README.Debian?
