Hmm, you're right. I nevertheless think, that at least one of the
packages (tetex-base oder tetex-extra) should provide pxfonts.

OK, so please add "Provides: txfonts, pxfonts" to tetex-base.
Reason: tetex-base contains everything necessary to use these fonts
(vf-, pfb-, tfm-files) with plain TeX. AFAICS tetex-extra contains
only the the Font defintion files used by LaTeX.
