Bug#186209: tetex-bin: xdvi anything.tex launches web browser on file:anything.tex
Package: tetex-bin
Version: 1.0.7+20011202-7.1
Severity: important
When I (incorrectly) try to run "xdvi anything.tex", the command fails
whether or not anything.tex actually exists with 'Can't open
'/full_path/anything.tex.dvi': No such file or directory'
BUT
mozilla is launched (or a call to an opened mozilla session is issued) on
the URL file:anything.tex (which usually isn't found either). Lauching
mozilla when you don't intend to could lead to potential security problems.
This does not happen with other filenames and xdvi -debug doesn't show
anything usefull about this.
I am using mozilla-browser 1.0.1-2 but I have experienced the same problem
on a potato system with tetex-bin 1.0.6-7 and navigator-smotif 4.73-19
