Well, I prefer to rely on your judgement since you know much more about
tetex and the build process then I do.

Hm, have you considered asking on the mailing list -devel or some other
list for help with the tetex packages or at least some help with
verifying and categorizing the bugreports, so that it will be easier for
you to deal with them? I think there might be some developers or users
who are able to at least help with the later task and maybe are even
able to help with the task of providing high quality tetex packages.

debian packages of tetex that I would consider to be quite good.
