I see.  It seems the above modifies xdvi to support src-special.
Generally, it needs to incorporate tetex with
ftp://ftp.cstug.cz/pub/tex/local/cstug/thanh/pdftex/tetex-supp.tgz
to support src-special as far as I know (is this right?).

And also it needs efforts in the above site for xdvi.

Considering these, I feel it might be too difficult to
support src-special now.

Of course, if it is not so difficult, I agree to support 
src-special.

By the way, I can not got what you wanted to say with
