This one should not be a problem now, the fmtutil script has been fixed.

- modified texmf.cnf
- wrong symbolic links (for configuration or TeX files)
- user compiled its own TeX commands and executables are not the ones
provided by Debian packages

I fully agree, but we should not focus only to installation.
