Concerned about removing libnss-db

Hi there, 
	Am rather concerned with a message that I have just received. I
am trying to install ASPELL for use with php4 and it spelling functions.
Upon attempting to install via apt-get it wishes to remove libnss-db.
>From what I can understand this package handles the passwd,group and
shadow files. 

I am using woody stable upgraded to testing packages.  This is on a
production development machine so cannot afford downtime.

Can anyone please advise me if I remove the libnss-db package will this
break any of the shell login functions or group management.
