I just used "modprobe 3c59x" and installation could continue.

2.
I cannot use the floppy to access the IDE Controller.:(
The machine hangs when I choose the harddisk detection but this might be
a kernel problem.
the woody disks don't work, too.
I just could get Redhat 8.0 :( installed on this test machine.
