KDM

Hi there!

I have such a problem: I'm trying to set-up remote logins to few
machines on my LAN. All of them have debian/woody installed.
I've configured my machine to launch one X-server (using kdm) and I have
the following in my /etc/kde2/kdm/Xservers file:

:0 local@tty1 /usr/X11R6/bin/X :0 -dpi 100 -indirect scarab vt7

Now when I /etc/init.d/kdm restart I get a running server with a
chooser from scarab. Because all the boxes are configured to reply on indirect
queries I am very happy to see them in the chooser menu. I can get kdm
logins from all of them but the problem is that I can only work for
let's say 1-2 minutes. After that time the server simply resets and I
can see the chooser again. In my syslog I have the following:

kdm[1188]: server open failed for display :0, giving up
kdm[1117]: Display :0 cannot be opened

and that repeats over and over. In syslog only the first message seems
to change pid over the time.
The situation also appears even if I won't login into any of the boxes.

One thing which I find interesting is that if I start an X server from
commandline:
# X -dpi 100 -indirect scarab :0
it works perfectly well both if I want to login into a remote box and
(providing my kdm is running without any entries in the Xservers file)
locally.

If you have any idea of what's wrong with that - let me now.

Greeting to all of you

	Tomek
