install report: dac1100 raid array
I installed from the test cycle 2 US cd images onto a rack-mount box
with a dac1100 raid array in it (uses the dac960 driver). It also has 2
gb of memory. This install would have been basically impossible under
slink.
Everything went perfectly. The boot-floppies used the dac960 devices
flawlessly. Good job all!
One small note: mounting a 40 gb drive can take some time (10 minutes),
especially when the raid controller is evidently still rebuilding the
array in the background. Dbootstrap displays a blue screen with no window
on it during this time, which is confusing. It'd be nice to throw up a
status message.
