RE: V210 booted from iso and installed but could not find mirror?

Hi Gregor,
Thanks for the reply!
Sadly my attempted upgrade will need to wait a couple more weeks as I'll need to pickup one more spare parts system.
The box I had scrapped that had a lot of corrosion was a Netra V240 and whilst the heat sink part is exactly the same it is missing the two small fans that the assembly for the V210 has.
Doh!

On the plus side I have been in conversation with the guys on the sun rescue mail list and apparently for these systems the CPU's don't need to match. It will automatically throttle down to the slowest one installed.
So as soon as I have the heatsink I'll try the install again.

Regards
Brian

That shouldn't be a problem, you only need to make sure that your apt.sources contains the debian-ports repo instead of the regular ones.

I'm very interested in your results. I've recently tried to get the SMP kernel working on a V215 and only got tons of kernel panics. Had to go back to the standard kernel and a single CPU. :(
