Sorry :) 2.6.26 compiled by gcc 4.1 boots on our v240s.
2.6.28+ compiled by gcc 4.3 does not boot on our v240s.
I have not yet tried to compile 2.6.28+ with 4.1, or vice versa.

On related note, gcc 4.4 is scheduled to be released in the next Debian
stable as well, so gcc 4.1 is definitely on its way out...
