Broadcom tg3 on Sunfire V210 problem

I have successfully installed Etch's minimal base system on Sunfire V210, from the netinstall cd.
I can normally boot the system but I can't get the network interfaces working.

I have searched about this and I found that it might be related to an Broadcom tg3 driver licensing and distribution issue.

I'm feeling I'm running into a dead end. Most of this discussion is from year 2005 and I'm wondering if exists some kind of workaround that I can use.

My kernel is 2.6.18-4-sparc64-smp
