Unidentified subject!

hi all!

on my ultra60 with debian 3.1 , if i use a 2.4.27 kernel i obtain, in 
/var/log/daemon , a lot of messages like:

Jul  9 02:20:13 helios init: Id "6" respawning too fast: disabled for 5 
minutes
Jul  9 02:20:13 helios init: Id "4" respawning too fast: disabled for 5 
minutes

of course i cannot login using consolle.

using 2.4.18 kernel, it works fine (and i can login from console)

have you some idea about the misteakes?
probably when i compile the new kernel i forget some option..
