Re: what keyboard selection for X? (was: install on Sun Blade 100)

never mind. i fixed it myself by going in and editing XF86Config-4 and changing the keyboard type to "xfree86"

Well, I got the base system (woody) installed through net boot - thanks for the help.

now i want to get X up and running, but having some major keyboard headaches

What I did:
1) apt-get-install x-windows-system
2) In debconf setup I've tried almost every selection - pc101, pc104, and type5 - and when I reboot and get the X login window, the keys are all wrong... b is n and enter is "=" etc. Cant login at all.

FYI, the keyboard worked fine in the terminal console before X installation.

any suggestions?

ps. i still have root access through ssh

This is a Sun Blade 100 w/ "Type 6" USB keyboard
