I can to compile the kernel perfectly, but when I boot with the new kernel, only have the message: "Remapping the kernel... done."
Does the box seem to boot (from the hard disk LEDs, etc)?Maybe it's just that you have forgotten to add the adequate serial support in the kernel for the serial chip plus CONFIG_SERIAL_CORE_CONSOLE.
