Sarge sparc netinstall rc2 bugs report

Hello all,

I tested Sarge netinstall rc2 on an Ultra60 (Dual processor, 2GB RAM)
I downloaded
http://cdimage.debian.org/pub/cdimage-testing/sarge_d-i/sparc/rc2/sarge-sparc-netinst.iso
(112 MB)
Installation is OK (Partitioning, etc...)

But when I reboot the workstation, here is the message that I have got:

============================================================================
Reboting with command: boot disk1
Boot device: /pci@1f,4000/scsi@3/disk@1,0 File and args:
SILO Version 1.4.8
boot:
Allocated 8Megs of memory at 0x40000000 for kernel
Uncompressing image...
Loaded kernel version 2.4.27
Loading initial ramdisk (3391488 bytes at 0xBF802000 phys, 0x40C00000
virt)...
\
Remapping the kernel... Booting Linux
Starting CPU 2... Illegal Instruction
{2} ok
=============================================================================

Then I am not able to go further...

I tried to reboot with the netinstall cd, choosing rescue, and the system
hangs:

=============================================================================
boot: rescue
Allocated 8Megs of memory at 0x40000000 for kernel
Loaded kernel version 2.4.27
Loading initial ramdisk (2896142 bytes at 0xBFC02000 phys, 0x40C00000

Well ... I have got a Woody box installed on another Ultra 60.
Working well, that's why I am giving Sarge a try !

On these 2 machines, 2 SCSI disks, Solaris on disk0 and Debian on disk1.
Still haven't play with SILO, so I stop boot sequence in order to boot to
disk1 when I want to try debian.

I am ready to test a new version (rc3 for example).

My guess is that the ramdisk used for the installation is OK, as the
installation started well when installing Sarge. But the ramdisk installed
hangs the system (Message 1 above):
==> initial ramdisk (3391488 bytes

Same story for the ramdisk loaded during rescue mode:
==> initial ramdisk (2896142 bytes

It seems the initital ramdisk is different during installation, when booting
after installation, and when rescuing the system !

By the way, the boot sequence hangs when activating CPU2 ("Starting CPU 2...
Illegal Instruction") so I checked my Woody Ultra60, which, in fact, Woody is
not using that 2nd CPU:

Hope that mail will help. Sarge is about to be officially released, and it is
the first time I am helping the Debian project, after about 10 years using
Linux !

I would like that kind of installation issue to be avoided before Sarge
coming-out !!!

Cheers

Fred
