sound configuration

Hi everyone, 

I'm new on this list. It's also my first time to successfully install debian 
3r3 on my old ultrasparc 1. Can someone please tell me the detailed steps on 
how I will enable the device audio or sound? It's because, I would like to 
play mp3 files or my cd musics.
