If you in fact see this problem still with images downloaded recently, I 
think it would be interesting to know when exactly your images are 
from? I have never used jigdo myself, so I don't know how exactly it 
works. 

I suggest that you try this image instead and report whether it works 
for you or not: 
<http://cdimage.debian.org/pub/cdimage-testing/daily/sparc/current/sarge-sparc-netinst.iso>
