I am experiencing a similar problem when using mplayer.
I posted it some time ago but I experienced no progress at all.
Sometimes the entire system locks up when using mplayer (or other multimedia
software), so i'm a little concerned about this (ok, an Ultra10 is not a
multimedia monster and mplayer displays wrong video output on the Creator
card.. I'll switch to another system when i'll have the money to do it..)

So, as previously stated, it's a kernel bug. My best bets are the audio driver
and the Sabre itself. I'll try to upgrade to 2.4.22, since I saw in the
changelog that something has changed in the Sabre driver (thanks Ben). It
takes longer than forever to compile a kernel on this box but I'm getting
used to it :)

Bye,
Antonello
