I see Sun supplies VIS libraries for Solaris on Sparc and x86, and
promises a stunning 100% increase in performance for the application I
need the most, that is MPEG2 decoding (with improvements in the critical
fields like Colorspace conversion and motion estimation).
The "right thing" to do is porting mlib to Linux, but I don't have the
development superpowers needed to accomplish this :(
