Here are a few potential causes of the problem and solutions: -

1. Are you using a HD >1GB without a boot partition?
If so, reinstall with a boot partition at the start of the disk.

2. Are you using a HD >1GB with a boot partition?
If so, try copying your silo.conf to /boot/ and running "silo -C /boot/silo.conf".

3. Are you trying to boot the wrong disk?
On your PROM command line, do "probe-scsi-all". You should see your first disk listed along with it's SCSI ID number. Compare the SCSI ID with the boot device address given when the machine tries to boot. If you think you are trying to boot the wrong disk and don't know how to set the default, post the output of "probe-scsi-all" and the boot device given at boot time and I'm sure someone can help.


Hope at least one of those provides a solution...
