[sds@gnu.org: Bug#108901: clisp_1:2.27-0.1(unstable): FTBFS - bus errors during build on sparc]

If anyone on this list has the time and resources (or the passion for LISP)
needed to debug this issue, help would be appreciated.

unfortunately this is not as good as it seems.
the problem has been localized to the transition from glibc2.0 (no
crash, CLISP just works) to glibc2.1 and 2.2 (CLISP crashes on GC).
I looked at the glibc NEWS file and it does not mention any
sparc-specific changes from 2.0 to 2.1.
(CLISP works just fine with x86 Linux and glibc2.2).
I have _no_ idea what is going on.
If you could look into this in more detail,
it would be greatly appreciated.

I was granted access to a linux/sparc box with
glibc2.2 and I do observe the crash.
If I could compare it with a glibc2.0 box,
I might be able to guess what was going wrong.
Unfortunately, I do not know the GC well enough to debug it,
and the person who knows it does not have time now.
