Re: Weitek Power uP Processor



There is a revision number on the chip, I believe it might be the manufacture
date.  My SPARC 2 is "9535" and works OK.  The earliest revision that works
is "9518" or higher.

The most significant increase in performance comes from going from
a 4m arch to the 4u arch. (ie SS10 to Ultra series)

It was worth it for me for the price.  If you max out the RAM with
a DataRam expansion board to 128MB and the Weitek it is definitely
usable and faster.
