At this point I don't remember the details, just that I spent much time
fighting to get Gnuplot to produce what I wanted. I think it had to do with
laying out several plots in the same figure. In the end I threw in the towel
and learned R.
One thing I do like about Gnuplot is its support for antique terminal types.
In the past I've had it output to xterm's Tektronix 4014 emulation, and I still
sometimes include the ASCII-graphics plots in email.
