Have you ever tried Axiom?  (In Debian main.)

There is also Ginac (in Debian main too) but I do not know if any of
these packages might fulfil your precise needs (what is missing in
free software tools?).

they might already have problems with the current license.

Please do.  Might some authors of such software be interested in
reconsidering their licensing for proper inclusion in Debian main?
