Есть другой способ от этого наверняка избавиться -- сделать из
gpm repeater, и натравить X11 на этот repeater.
Я всегда так делаю, к тому же для моего ноута это очень помогает
-- можно переключать мышь и Direct serial cable без перезапуска
X11.
PS btw, я предпочитаю trackboll > touchpad > mouse > joystick.
