Hi,

we’d like to schedule a transition to evolution 3.0. As usual for
evolution transitions, there is a small set of packages requiring
sourceful uploads and more that require binNMUs. I haven’t tested
whether they build correctly, but I don’t expect it to be harder than
usual.

The transition needs to be done together with libgdata, which only
implies only one extra binNMU.

In order to avoid forcing reverse dependencies to be updated to gtk+ 3
simultaneously, the evolution-data-server source package has been
renamed to evolution-data-server3. Some binaries are simply replaced by
the newer version, while libraries that changed soname are
co-installable - this is especially true of libedataserverui.
Once reverse dependencies have all been updated to gtk+ 3, the plan is
to rename back the source package to evolution-data-server and decruft
old binaries.

The following packages need sourceful uploads, they are ready in
experimental except for evolution-mapi which is not in testing either:
 * evolution
 * evolution-data-server3
 * evolution-exchange
 * evolution-mapi (not in testing)
 * evolution-rss
 * libgdata

The following packages need binary NMUs for libgdata:
 * totem

The following packages can be rebuilt against a newer libcamel, but
even if they are not this should not prevent the packages from
migrating:
 * almanah
 * deskbar-applet
 * ekiga
 * empathy
 * eweouz
 * giggle
 * gnome-panel
 * gnome-phone-manager
 * gnome-python-desktop
 * gnome-shell
 * libopensync-plugin-evolution2
 * librevolution-ruby
 * mail-notification
 * sflphone
 * syncevolution
 * tracker

The following packages will need to be updated to gtk+ 3 and
libedataserverui-3.0 later so that e-d-s 2.30 can be dropped:
 * gnome-panel (will have its own transition)
 * sflphone
 * tracker
