>From the release side, I think I'd mentally filed this under "waiting
for feedback from the gpxviewer maintainer(s)".  If they're ok with it
then I don't see any particular problems; note that if they happen to
intersect with the Python transition then the packages may get blocked
in unstable until python is ready to transition.
