More importantly, it's not one that can feasibly be repeatedly tested for compliance, which seems like a fundamental requirement for an official release goal that the release team are going to monitor. Personally, I'd say it's more a publicity issue than a technical one -- first in getting Debian a reputation for being easy to install and use (for kernel hackers who're indifferent to distros, anyway), and in its aims ("Linus uses Debian for five minutes!"). Which is fine and good, but -release isn't going to be a lot of help in making it happen. Cheers, aj
