This is true however this is never devoid of trouble. To quote Marcelo
E. Magallon:
"The problem here is gratuitous package renames within a system that
does not support them."
I would suggest to use the new name and Provide the old name
for Etch. This way apt-get/aptitude install will work with both
names.
