Well, I got these in debian/rules
binary-common:
        ...
        dh_shlibdeps -ldebian/tmp/usr/lib
        dh_gencontrol

but no go whatsoever. That is, there is no dependence anymore for
kmplayer-lib if I set it to 'Depends: ${shlib:Depends}'

So much for 'magically works' :-)
