qemu or xen.

I think we have already an experimental TULIP installation working on Debian dist-upgrades.

do you know if that is running stable->testing upgrade path?

Not that I know, but TULIP is highly configurable, and adding a stable->testing upgrade should not be that complicated. I did it for Mandriva and it works.
