Because who wants to play a version of a game which is six years and
two major versions out of date, when they could be playing the current
version?  Well, maybe someone, but that would require a deliberate decision
and proper advertisement as to the reasons.

So should you.  This is quite different from "New minor version came out
upstream a week ago".  This is "Your package is grossly out of date."

If Debian was still shipping, oh, say, perl 3 as its most up-to-date version
of perl, it would not be a 'wishlist' bug.
