Bug#294308: xfce4-battery-plugin: does not display -- error on startup

You should see a rectangle which is thinner than it is tall. Can you
right click on the space and see the context menu for the plugin?
Do you have ACPI/APM working in your kernel?

Hmm, I'm not sure this is relevant. Does it only happen when you add
it?
