You should see a rectangle which is thinner than it is tall. Can you
right click on the space and see the context menu for the plugin?
Do you have ACPI/APM working in your kernel?

Hmm, I'm not sure this is relevant. Does it only happen when you add
... I've seen code where people play clever ioctl tricks to deduce a device
type and it ends up looking like one of those chemistry identification
charts (hopefully minus do you see smoke ?) -- Alan Cox
