DPL candidate interviews

Hi,

As discussed in our team meeting in february (see
https://meetbot.debian.net/debian-publicity/2025/ ) , we plan to do interviews
with the (four) DPL candidates for the april 2025 vote (
https://www.debian.org/vote/2024/vote_001 ). Five people (Anupa, Charles,
disaster2life, eamanu, joostvb; Cc-ed) expressed interest in lending a hand.

I had a chat with disaster2life yesterday about this.

Given the short time frame, and given the fact we don't have 2 but 4 candidates
for this term, and as discussed, we plan to do text based interviews this
round. To keep a real time / live feeling, I suggest using IRC (bridged to
matrix). Next to the interview channel, we could have a dedicated channel for
chatter among the audience; with some time for 'questions from audience
members'. How do people feel about that?

As for time schedule: we just started the 3 week campaigning period, and voting
starts at sun april 6: about 3 weeks from now.

As I see it, tasks now are:

- register 2 dedicated irc channels w/ matrix bridges

- contact the four candidates, ask them if they're open to being
irc-interviewed, and try to agree upon a timeslot in coordination with
   whoever conducts the interview.

- think about subjects / questions (refer to platforms and discussion on
   d-vote@l.d.o)

.

Bye,

Joost
