I would like to point out that any definition of "Debian initiative"
is blurry.

This is a project about Debian launched by two Debian developers. I
believe it's something that's part of the Debian ecosystem and the fact
that money is involved does not mean we should ignore it.

Pretty please, change the wording so that it doesn't sound like
asking for donation. But don't drop it.

What about this:

<toc-add-entry name="tdah">The Debian Administrator's Handbook</toc-add-entry>

<p>Debian developers Raphaël Hertzog and Roland Mas want to translate
their French Debian bestseller (<q>Cahier de l'Admin Debian</q>) into
English. To be able to spend the 6 months of work required to complete
this project, they are pre-selling the book as part of a <a
href="http://debian-handbook.info/go/ulule-debian/";>fundraising
campaign</a>. They also setup a separate liberation fund: if it reaches
its target, the resulting book will be published under a license
compatible with the Debian Free Software Guidelines.
</p>

<p>Note that about 12% of the money donated via the above link will be
given back to the Debian project.</p>

There's no "call for action", so it's really only "information" and not
advertising. You can also checkout the wording on LWN which is quite
neutral too:

Francesca and Fernando you mean? Jeremiah has been rather supportive
of keeping it. Just like Alexander Reshetov (eof).

And IMO we should rather seek some sort of acceptable compromise rather
than try to count heads on one side or the other and impose a
non-consensual decision on everybody.

I would like you to hold off a bit until all parties had a chance to
participate. In particular Tolimar (Alexander) and alphascorpii (Meike).

I was in touch with the Press team to seek for a press release and as you
know they denied this request but at least Tolimar said to me that a
mention in the DPN was fine.

Cheers,
