Beloved DSA, this ticket is meant to keep track of the status of setting up blog.debian.org , a public-facing machine meant to host the official blog of the Debian project. Below you can find a summary of what I believe has been agreed upon after discussions in the past months, up to and including DebConf11. - The machine will be DSA-administered. - It will run (the most recent incarnation of) Movable Type as blogging platform. The rationale of the choice is a compromise among the need of having blog-friendly features (usable comments, trackbacks, etc.) and having a platform that supports a static HTML cache of all pages. - The blogging software itself will be administered by people of the publicity team (still to be identified). - In the long run, blog.d.o might be plugged into LDAP authentication and allow all DDs to write draft blog posts that will be reviewed by the publicity team before publishing. I know that work has already been started on this, and I hereby thank DSA for that. Cheers. -- Stefano Zacchiroli -o- PhD in Computer Science \ PostDoc @ Univ.
